The going price is a little steep at $19.99, but that is a one time fee. Honestly you can probably find someone doing a giveaway for this…I’ve been using it since the beta and I love it… especially the Facebook and MySpace chat. It makes it alot simpler to keep track of all your IM messengers in one nice easy to use app… oh and did I mention there is a trial?

The UI is clean… threaded messaging is there, so you don’t miss a beat. An icon on the main screen will notify you of new messages and replies while running the app in the background. It’s a all in one messenger, truly!

HedoneDesign DigitalPro theme

As if anyone didn’t know I’m addicted to Hedone Design themes for my BlackBerry… I just can’t help it, they’re that darn good!! I’ve purchsed just about every theme developed by HD and I must say I’m thoroughly impressed by them all, especially this new Digital Pro theme… So I just paid the $3.99 to get the newest one and I’m loving it already!!! Just got a new Ventev PowerCell portable Backup and Power Supply in today and I must say I’m loving it so far… It gives you a on-the-go power supply and allows you to recharge your device from anywhere, when a powersource is unavailable.

You can also transport & store with ease since the unit is only 3.5″x2″x0.5″. Included in the packaging are two cable Mini USB as well as Micro USB, as well as the wall charger. There is also a LED indicator lets you know how much power is available. It’s priced at around $44.99 which is not too shabby… I just might be picking one up… more information is available at www.ventev.com.

osX Pro Edition

Just copped a new theme the other day by my favorite theme developer Elycruz or as some of you may know as ECruz or EThemes, the OSX Pro + Stack. The theme boasts 5 icons on a hidden bottom dock as well as a stack which host another 6 icons. The theme flows well and only negative I would have for this one is I’m still spoiled with the HTC Diamond theme w/QuickLaunch. If this theme were somehow integrated with QL along with the current stack icons it would be completely insane!!! HTC Diamond Weather

EThemes over @ the Crackberry Store is at it again. Some of you may remember E-Cruz from PimpMyBerry or ElyCruz from Blacklight Themes, same person. This time around the HTC Diamond & HTC Diamond Weather theme is the hottest theme around. You’ve seen others mimicking the iPhone, Windows, Mac, as well as Android devices. At $0.99, it’s definitely something that won’t break the bank, and in my opinion, well worth it. BBM 5.0 Leaked for most devices

Found this jewel over at BlackBerryOS.com and boy is it a big one…BBM 5.0 which has a brand new look and feel to it. One thing I noticed right off hand was the ability to “show what you’re listening to” for those of us who use our BlackBerry devices as an MP3 player as well. GPS location settings are there also as well as a proximity alert to let you know when you’re getting closer to one of your BBM friends. (weird?) Also the ability to group chat as well as group message, is another welcomed feature, I know I will use this alot to correspond with co-workers. One of the best features in my opinion is the new way you can add a contact. Of course you still have the normal PIN or email selection, but it has now opened up to the barcode scan. Select your barcode and post it somewhere online or show your barcode to someone else who has BBM 5.0 and once they scan it, your infromation is received on the other device. Rather nifty thing I must say… head over to BlackBerryOS.com and download and install the new BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 if you like. *(Just be sure to backup your device before doing so)

MyBlackBerry – Social Networking Site from RIM? Really???

So there’s a buzz going around about RIM’s new BlackBery Social Networking site labelled MyBlackBerry. So far the app is invite only, probably for beta testers, but by the looks of it, should be a pretty snazzy site. Screenshots on sites like BGR and CB have the app looking similar to a Facebook style forum approach. I for one can’t wait to get my profile set up and pics uploaded. One thing is this site will have to go above and beyond due to sites like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace which already have a stranglehold on the social networking business.

New FutureX theme from HedoneDesign. HOT!!

Just checked one of my favorite BlackBerry theme creators website, HedoneDesign and looks as if he has another winner with the new FutureX theme. Retailing at $6.99, the theme consists of 3 tabs that have 5 icons a piece when selected, which makes a total of 15 icons!!! As always the theme is wallpaper friendly so customize yours to your hearts desire… The theme differs depending on the BlackBerry device, which the 15 icons are only supported on the newer devices. (Bold, Curve 8900 and Storm) all others will have 5 icons on the main screen. Enough of my gum flapping, go check out the FutureX theme at HedoneDesign!!!

Bellshare – Premium Apps for BlackBerry Smartphones

I have a ton of apps on my BlackBerry but none compare to the ones from BellShare. If you haven’t heard of any of these apps you must be in a cave somewhere… BerryBuzz, which allows you to customize your LED for just about any alert type, Berry Weather, which is IMO one of the best weather applications for the BlackBerry, allows you to not only check your current weather but allows for GPS weather tracking for the Berry user on the go… Berry Popup, which allows you to see your incoming messages in a popup window the moment it arrives to your device, and SmartAlerts which allows you to create customized Blackberry alerts using filters on e-mails, SMS, calendar events and missed calls. I’ve personally downloaded and installed paid versions of each of the 4 applications and preach by them. One thing I love about Bellshare is their support, previously they would post a new beta on Pinstack, but now they have their own forum site where you can find the latest information about the applications as well as the new beta releases. Bricked your Berry? Try JL Cmder

Did you make a mistake and now your BlackBerry is a paperweight? Did you “brick” your BlackBerry??? Happen to get one of those handy dandy JVM errors??? Well you can stop pulling your hair out… there’s hope!! Download and install JLCmder to your PC! This tool helps you wipe the device clean of all OS information as well as restoring the device to the factory defaults. What you’ll need of course is a PC, BlackBerry, USB cord and the OS that came with your device, which you should be able to download from your carriers site. I’ve enlosed some screenshots showing the process of wiping a device as well as some links to vids on YouTube showing the application in action. You can thank me later!!!!

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder?

Note: If you are connecting via a USB HUB then these instructions may not work. Try connecting via USB on a PC that is not using a HUB.

Pre-Wipe Tasks

1. Download and install Jl_Cmder to your PC ( Click here to download Jl_Cmder ) Reference Link

2. Make sure ALL your data (i.e. contacts, appointments, memos and etc) are backed up or synced before proceeding! This will wipe everything off of the device

3. Make sure you have the latest version of both Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS installed on your PC. If you need them then download them from here:
 Desktop Manager and Handheld OS List
4. From the PC navigate to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file vendor.xml
 If you have never installed the Handheld OS before then the vendor.xml file will
not be on the PC and you can skip this step
5. Plug the device into the PC using the USB cord and make sure Desktop Manager is closed

6. Remove the battery from the device

Wipe The Device

1. Wipe the device using Jl_Cmder
 This may take several attempts to connect to the device, so keep trying until it connects
 and wipes
2. The device will reboot to a white screen with a ’507′ error
 If the device will not connect and wipe after several attempts then please follow
the instructions here: 

 What to do next if Jl_Cmder will not connect and wipe
Install OS and Restore

1. Open Desktop Manager and select Application Loader

2. Install the OS by following the prompts and selections

3. The device will reboot. It can take up to 15 minutes for the 1st boot.

4. Restore the previously made backup or re-sync

5. Install the battery back into the device and unplug from the PC
